This is a Centralized Swap.
DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP: August 31
DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF YOUR BLOCKS: September 30
The guidelines are as follows:
1. We will be exchanging sets consisting
of one 8 1/2 inch blocks (8"
finished, 1/4" seam allowance all around) and one
8 1/2 inch charm square of coordinating fabric. There is no
set number to send in. Send as few as two sets,
or as many as 10.
2. ALL FABRICS SHOULD BE PREWASHED & IRONED 100% COTTON! No unwashed or non-cotton fabrics should be used in this exchange.
3. Use the best quality fabric you can afford.
Avoid cottons that feel
like sandpaper!
4. Try to keep your blocks at 8 1/2 inches. Please
remember that all
levels of sewing may be involved, and that each person
is doing the best
work they can. This swap is for fun, and if
irregular sized blocks are
a problem for you to accept, this swap may not be
for you.
TIPS: If you are unsure of yourself, measure
each step of the way!
Also, you may find that using SCANT 1/4 inch seams
will make your block size
much closer to 8-1/2".
5. When preparing your blocks for the swap, each
set *must* be enclosed
in a separate baggie or in saran wrap, along
with a piece of paper or
attached label indicating your name, snail mail and
e-mail address.
(Our traders enjoy the "personal touch" of knowing
who their blocks come
from.)
6. Put all of your separately bagged sets into
a large envelope, along
with a second large self-addressed, stamped envelope
that can be used to
mail your swapped blocks back to you.
**Tyvec envelopes** are highly
recommended - they are lightweight and are impossible
to tear! If you
are not a resident of the United States, please include
a self-addressed
envelope (without postage) and a fabric "fat
quarter" - return postage
will be provided in exchange for the fabric.
(Thank you!)
7. Your blocks **must arrive** prior to
the deadline to be included
in the swap. Allow at least 5 days for delivery.
Please send an e-mail
to me when you mail your blocks, and I will
let you know when
your blocks arrive. Once the blocks are swapped,
I'll be sure and
e-mail you when I send your blocks back to you. Finally,
please let me know
when you receive them. If you find you are having
problems meeting the
deadline, please let me know.
So, all you cowgirls and cowboys at heart, to sign
up for this exchange,
send me the following information:
1)Your Name
2)Your Home Address including Street, City, State,
Zip code (Country if not US)
3) Your e-mail address (must be reliable)
4) Make an estimate of how many blocks you would
like to exchange. You
are not locked in to this amount; it just gives me
an idea of how many
will be coming in.
Please double check that you have sent me ALL your information!
Let's two-step around the sewing room, and send in
those "Western
Blocks!!"
